Apac, Uganda | The Territorial Police in Apac District have launched investigations into the suspected murder of 66-year-old Ogwang Washington, whose body was discovered on Monday afternoon at Adok B, Alworoceng in Ibuje Sub-county.
According to North Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, the matter was reported by Odyek Patrick, 56, a resident of Agengi Cell, Central Ward, Akere Division in Apac Municipality.
Preliminary police findings indicate that on Sunday, August 10, 2025, Ogwang left his home at around 11:00 am to look for a maize-grinding machine and later returned with a tapline.
At about 3:00 pm, he bathed and left for Alekoli Trading Centre to watch a football match but did not return home.
The following day, at about 2:00 pm, his lifeless body was found lying along the road from Alekoli Trading Centre, just a short distance from his home.
Police officers from Kidirani Police Post, led by the Officer-in-Charge, visited the scene, documented evidence, and conveyed the body to Apac Main Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
No suspects have been arrested so far, but investigations are ongoing.
