The initiative seeks to support the educational aspirations of Amolatar’s youth while promoting gender equality in higher education.

The scholarship recipients, comprising four girls and two boys, will have their studies fully funded by the government.

Ocen Kiring urged the students to focus on their academic pursuits and return with excellent results, ideally obtaining first-class degrees or second class upper qualifications.

In his statement, Ocen Kiring acknowledged the financial challenges faced by parents in Amolatar and emphasized the importance of their support in ensuring the success of the scholars.

“We call upon the parents to provide their children with essential resources such as books and food to enable them to have a fulfilling campus experience,” Ocen Kiring said.

The district officials expressed pride in the achievement of these six students and noted that their success has elevated Amolatar’s reputation.

The majority of the scholarship recipients being girls highlights the district’s commitment to promoting female education and empowerment.

Among the selected students, three will attend Makerere University, two will join Kyambogo University, and one will enroll at Gulu University.

The chosen courses include Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Bachelor’s in Education, and Bachelor’s in Statistics.

Parents of the scholarship recipients expressed their gratitude to the Amolatar District Local Government for providing this life-changing opportunity for their children.
