Kampala, Uganda | Residents of Dokolo North are set to benefit from improved emergency healthcare services after their area Member of Parliament, Hon. Joseph Jones Ogwal, confirmed that an ambulance he procured has arrived in the country and will soon be launched to serve the community.

Ogwal said the ambulance fulfils one of the key pledges he made to voters during the election campaign, describing it as part of his commitment to improving access to emergency healthcare services in Dokolo North.

“I promised my people that I would support the health sector, and today I am happy that this promise is becoming a reality,” Ogwal said.

He said the ambulance will provide timely transportation for patients, particularly those requiring emergency referrals to higher health facilities, and is expected to strengthen healthcare delivery across the constituency.

The legislator noted that the official launch will coincide with his thanksgiving celebration, where the ambulance will be handed over for community use.

Ogwal added that the ambulance complements the constituency service truck, which has already been supporting residents in community activities and development work across Dokolo North.

Access to emergency transport remains a major challenge in many rural areas, with patients often relying on motorcycles or private vehicles to reach health facilities. The new ambulance is expected to ease this burden and improve emergency response in the constituency.

Ogwal pledged to continue delivering on his campaign commitments through initiatives aimed at improving the welfare and livelihoods of the people of Dokolo North.
