Pentecostal Churches in Oyam Rally for Four-Day Evangelical Outreach

Oyam, Uganda | A coalition of Pentecostal churches in Oyam District is set to host a four-day evangelistic outreach aimed at strengthening Christian faith and expanding ministry to institutions across the district.

Dubbed the Jesus Alive Crusade, the event will run from February 5 to 8, 2026, drawing participation from churches including Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG), Truth Evangelistic Fountain Ministries, Living Stone Church and Victory Outreach Church, among others.

Organisers say the crusade will combine open-air gatherings with targeted outreach programmes in schools and prisons, areas they describe as critical for moral and spiritual engagement.

Evangelist Bruno Odur, team lead of Jesus Alive Gospel Outreach Ministries, said the initiative seeks to take the gospel beyond church walls.

“Our focus is on reaching young people and inmates with a message of hope and transformation. We believe institutions are strategic spaces for long-term impact,” he said in an interview.

Church leaders noted that the outreach follows a recent mission in Amoilela, Bala, where more than 500 people reportedly responded to altar calls.

The testimony, they say, has encouraged broader mobilisation in Oyam.

Bishop Joel Bwonyo of Living Stone Church said the collaboration reflects growing unity among Pentecostal churches in the district.

“This is a collective effort. We are working together to see spiritual renewal not only in churches but in homes, schools and communities,” he said.

Evangelist Hallan Kennedy Odongo of Ngai PAG called on Christians to actively participate, while Akorimo Felix Iye Rwot of Victory Outreach Church Corner Ngai emphasised the importance of prison ministry.

“Many inmates feel isolated. Sharing the gospel restores dignity and offers hope for a different future,” he said.

The crusade will feature guest preacher Rev. Dr. James Okalo Ekwang of Truth Fountain, alongside Evangelist Odur.

Gospel musician Ambrose Lucky O is expected to lead worship sessions.

Organisers anticipate significant attendance from across Oyam and neighbouring districts, expressing optimism that the outreach will contribute to moral renewal and stronger community bonds.
