Lira City
Two people were reportedly died on spot and six others sustained injuries in a fatal accident which occurred last night the 9th November 2023 at around 23:00hours at Adyel along Kampala road.
The accident occurred in Adyel near Standard High School in Lira City West Division when a Fuso fighter registration number UAW 395P driven by yet to be identified person was heading to Lira-City through Cathedral lost control and knocked a Tricycle registration number UEC 698A red in colour driven by Abura Aron aged 24 years old a resident of Tetugu Village in Lira City West Division leaving him with severe injuries.

The dead have been identified as Sam Obua 18 years and Kizito Okwee 23 years, both residents of Kirombe East in Lira City West Division. Meanwhile other passengers who sustained injuries are; Daniel Okeng 24 years, Joshua Ayo 16 years, Innocent Obua 19 years, one only identified as Oyanga 16 years old residents of Kirombe East Lira City West Division and Ambrose Ongora 25 years old a resident of Kulu Hali Village in Lira City West Division.
SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga police spokesperson, said the scene was visited by a team of police officers led by the traffic police tip toed both the motor vehicle and tricycle to Lira City CPS pending investigation and inspection by the IOV.
Victims who sustained injuries were rushed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital and bodies of the deceased were transported to Lira Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examinations.

OKENG DANIEL aged 24 yrs, one identified as OYANGA only aged 16 yrs, AYO JOSHUA aged 16yrs old, OBUA INNONCENT aged 19yrs old, all are resident of KIROMBE East in Lira-City West Division And ONGORA AMBROSE aged 25 yrs old a resident of KULLUHALLI Village in Lira-City West Division.

All these victims were rushed to Lira Regional Referral Hospital for treatment, while the deceased bodies taken to the mortuary pending postmortem.
