Why Museveni Passionately Loves Alebtong District

By Mathias Lutwama

Mindful of the institutional nexus called human capital development in propelling civilisation, we are glad that His Excellency President Museveni continues to leverage support for the 13 public secondary schools in Alebtong.

In demonstration of this milestone, an average capitation grant of Sh20 million per school per term is consistently disbursed, in line with Ministry of Education guidelines.

Popular sovereignty, as well executed by President Museveni, impels the Head of State to functionally aid market-oriented production. This is feasible in Alebtong District, where Sh2.3 billion has been loaned out to 26 active Emyooga SACCOs for welders, carpenters, salon operators, among others.

The self-evident truth in this is well exemplified that President Museveni is anxiously keen to see prosperity flourish in Alebtong.

His Excellency the President, through the NRM manifesto, guides us on the unction of innovative technology as a litmus test for a knowledge-based economy.

In attestation to this, the two public technical institutes in Alebtong receive a total of Sh672 million per year from government. This justifies the reason why so many graduates in vehicle mechanical engineering, fashion and design, architecture, agriculture, among others, are passed out every year from Abia War Memorial Technical Institute and Amugu Agro Technical Institute.

As a district, we conceptualised the presidential message of agro-premium products that earn Uganda billions of dollars.

Thanks to His Excellency President Museveni, we have so far distributed 200,000 coffee seedlings, free of charge, to Alebtong farmers with the intent to induce commercial profitability with the booming coffee prices.

As well demystified by President Museveni, our next strategic focus for commercial farmers in Alebtong is field sensitisation on cocoa farming and production.

Indeed, it is a cycle of no more sleeping.
