Dokolo, Uganda | Adeknino Seed Secondary School in Adeknino Sub-county, Dokolo District, has officially installed a new student leadership team that will serve during the 2026–2027 academic year.
The handover ceremony was held on Thursday at the school premises, where outgoing student leaders formally transferred authority to their successors.
Outgoing Head Prefect Acura Joshua handed over office to Omara Gerald, while outgoing Head Girl Apio Racheal transferred leadership to Amolo Salume. The outgoing UNSA President, Moro Isaac, also handed over office to the newly elected student leadership.
Speaking during the ceremony, the school’s headteacher, Susan Kia, said Adeknino Seed Secondary School remains committed to providing students with equal opportunities to identify and develop their leadership potential and talents.
She urged the newly elected leaders to serve with integrity, humility and responsibility, warning them against abusing their positions or intimidating fellow students.
The Parish Priest of Apewoneki Parish, Rev. James Opio Ojok, encouraged the new student leaders to embrace servant leadership, saying true leadership is rooted in service to others and attracts God’s blessings.
Board Chairperson George Otim Toli, who presided over the function as chief guest, challenged students to remain focused on their education and avoid practices that could jeopardise their future.
He specifically urged learners, particularly girls, to guard against early pregnancies, describing them as one of the leading causes of school dropout in the district.
The ceremony concluded with a call on the newly elected leaders to promote discipline, unity and academic excellence throughout their term of office.
