Kwania, Uganda | Aduku Senior Secondary School has passed out 160 students after completing a one-month Patriotism Course.
The ceremony was held at Aduku SS and presided over by Isaac Mweru Hirya, Assistant Resident District Commissioner, RDC, of Kwania.
Daniel Isaac Olola, Patriotism Patron at Aduku SS, said the school started the program in 2023 and has so far passed out over 700 students.
He noted that the Patriotism training is helping students understand discipline, hard work, and the spirit of serving the nation. He added that this has kept Aduku SS number one in Kwania District for promoting Patriotism clubs and related activities.
Zeckonia Odama Ajjo, Headteacher of Aduku SS, said the Patriotism exercise has improved discipline amongĀ more than 1,000 students.
“Students have embraced Patriotism, a key government program meant to build love for Uganda in young people,” the Headteacher said.
Odama decried the high rate of crime in Kwania and called on the security team to take action.
Isaac Mweru Hirya, Assistant RDC, urged the students to take the Patriotism Club seriously because it provides a strong foundation. He said the program puts Uganda first.
Barbara Ageno, S.4 student, and Hudson Okello, S.1 student, were among those who passed out. They said the Patriotism training has taught them to love Uganda and to work hard. They promised to remain disciplined and to become good citizens in future.
