Bishop Wanok Preaches Love and Unity as Minister Aceng Joins Palm Sunday Celebrations in Lira

Lira, Uganda – The Bishop of Lira Diocese, Rt. Rev. Santus Lino Wanok, has called on Christians to uphold love, unity and compassion especially during these politically charged times.

Speaking during Palm Sunday celebrations at Lira Cathedral, Bishop Wanok reminded the faithful that Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem was a symbol of peace and humility, values the Church must uphold in today’s society.

Among the congregation was the Minister of Health and Woman MP for Lira City, Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, who joined hundreds of Christians in the vibrant procession.

In line with the Bishop’s message, Dr. Aceng urged Ugandans to embrace unity and put aside political differences for the good of the country.

She also delivered a crucial health message, encouraging parents to ensure children between 6 to 18 months receive the malaria vaccine stressing the importance of preventing the deadly disease.

The Minister praised the Church for its moral guidance and role in strengthening community health and development.

Palm Sunday in Lira City was not only a moment of spiritual reflection but also an opportunity to bridge faith with public service reminding all Ugandans of the power of unity in building a peaceful and healthy society.
