Former Erute County North Member of Parliament Hon Charles Angiro Gutmoi Abac acon has died in a motor accident near Ayago bridge along Karuma-Pakwach road.
Gutmoi also the Supreme Clan Chief of Onywal Ipyeda(Awitong) served as the Erute County MP for three terms from 2001 to 2011 and 2016-2021.
Angiro and another lady identified as Deborah, the daughter to Rev Sam Erick died on the spot as the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road and overturned multiple times as the driver attempted to dogde ramping onto a parked trailer on the road.
Four other people including the driver, the wife to former Lira Municipality Mayor Mike Ogwang Olwa Veve sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to Anaka Hospital.
The vehicle Toyota Regius registration number UAW 943A which had nine occupants was reportedly transporting people to Arua to attend a traditional wedding ceremony.
James Ocen, one of the people who was traveling to Arua for the same traditional wedding ceremony but was using another vehicle told Dokolo Post, that they left Lira City around 2Am last night to attend the traditional wedding ceremony in Arua but of the vehicles in the convey overturned mutiple times killing two people on the spot.
Ocen says the police visited the accident scene and have rushed the victims to Anaka Hospital.
