Kwania, Uganda | The Clan Head of Oyima-Alwa, Christopher Ebong Kibol, has rallied men to trust their wives and give them full ownership of homes in the wills they write.
Ebong Kibol made the remarks on Monday, July 13, 2026, in Ayabi-ayaba Cell, Central Ward, Ayabi Town Council, Kwania District, during the burial ceremony of Dilish Abil Obura, a member of the Kwania NRM Women League and wife to the Aduku Town Council NRM Chairperson. He said many men do not trust their wives and instead write wills in the names of other people to take responsibility for their homes after they die.
The Very Rev. Canon George Amoli, Dean of St. Peter’s Cathedral, Aduku, also called on Christians to live exemplary lives in order to earn everlasting life from God. He noted that the payment for sin is death and that death has become rampant in today’s world because people are committing sins every day without repenting.
Meanwhile, Tonny Eron, Kwania County MP; James Ongu Tar, Kwania North MP; and Kenny Auma Lapat, Woman MP for Kwania District, asked the public to give leaders time to work and to put politics aside.
George Kakoma Akacha, the district LCV Chairperson, called on people in different professions to prioritize the church by contributing what they have.
Susan Apio Atekilwak, a former Kwania Woman MP contestant, also urged women to respect their husbands and avoid dragging issues that can lead to domestic violence. She also confirmed her active political activities ahead of 2031.
The burial attendees were Kwania District LCV Vice Chairperson Okol Otim Puli; Kwania District Council Speaker Sharon Becky Auma and her deputy, Jacob Edule; other LC5 councillors, including Dorcus Wangari, Martin Okech Oculi for Aduku Town Council, Annet Atim for Aduku Sub-county, Gregory Adupa (Workers), and representatives from Ayabi Sub-county and Ayabi Town Council.
Among the cultural leaders in attendance were Awitong Araki Tom Lakana Odur Anang, among others.
The spiritual leaders included representatives from Abuli Parish, Abongomola Archdeaconry, and St. Peter’s Cathedral Deanery, among others.
