Kwania District – In a decisive move to combat rising insecurity in Aduku Town, local leaders and security authorities have announced a joint operation to arrest individuals responsible for harassing business owners and residents.
The operation will focus on apprehending both adult perpetrators and the parents of underage offenders, who will be held accountable for neglecting their responsibilities.
The announcement was made during a meeting led by Jimmy Uhuru, Chairman Local Council 1 of Aduku Township Cell, and Okello Geoffrey, Aduku Township’s Gombola Internal Security Officer (GISO).
The initiative aims to reduce crime rates in Aduku, which have seen unsuspecting victims lose valuables such as phones, money, and bags, with some cases involving sexual assault on women.
“We are committed to ensuring the safety and security of our residents and business owners,” Uhuru stated. “This operation will send a strong message that criminal behavior will not be tolerated in our town.”
GISO Geoffrey Okello emphasized the importance of parental responsibility in curbing crime, noting that parents of underage offenders will also face legal consequences for failing to provide support and guidance to their children.
The operation commences today and will continue indefinitely until authorities are satisfied with the improved security situation in Aduku Town. Residents and business owners have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local authorities.
The collaborative effort between local leaders and security officials is expected to restore peace and security to Aduku, providing a much-needed reprieve for the town’s hardworking citizens.
