Kampala, Uganda | Kampala-based lawyer and political figure, Luyimbazi Elias Nalukoola, has filed a Notice of Appeal in a bid to overturn a recent High Court decision that ruled in favour of Nambi Faridah Kigongo in a closely contested election petition.
The appeal, officially received by the Court of Appeal Registry on Monday, challenges the judgment delivered by Hon. Justice Bernard Namanya in Election Petition No. 01 of 2025. Nalukoola, through his legal team, argues that the decision was unjust and intends to have it set aside by the higher court.
The Notice of Appeal was drawn and filed by PACE Advocates, in collaboration with other top legal firms including Nyanzi, Kiboneka & Mbabazi Advocates, Nalukoola Advocates & Solicitors, Alaka & Co. Advocates, Ahamark Advocates, and Reeve Advocates signaling a high-level legal offensive.
Although the full details of the case remain under seal, insiders describe it as a politically sensitive matter rooted in the fallout from recent electoral processes.
