Residents of Te-abala, Anepmoroto, Orum Sub County and Wi-gweng cell, Oget Ward, Otuke Town Council, Otuke District, will soon start accessing clean and safe.

Julius Acon Bua, the area Member Of Parliament-Otuke East County will drill two boreholes to curb down the existing water crisis in the villages of Te-abala and Wi-gweng.
On Tuesday 23 May, 2023, Acon revealed that 10 new boreholes will be drilled in his constituency. The new boreholes, to be drilled, will depend on his performance in the marathon race on the 27 May, 2023 in Australia. “Incase I win this year’s race, organizers of this tournament will applaud me with 10 boreholes,” the Otuke East legislator roared.
For years, the locals were stressed over water scarcity and yet they depend majorly on one nearby water well in which sometimes they share with animals and it has been difficult for them to secure clean water needed for domestic use.
A resident of Te-abala village, said the chronic water shortage had hugely affected the institutions of learning and hundreds of households and Acon’s initiative to provide new boreholes to his people will help eliminate infections caused by bilharzia and hook worm that affected the community for over a decade.
A team of engineers sent by the area MP to carry out survey to find out which location they could get a good volume of underground water has reached the site and has started executing their duties.
