The victim, 34-year-old Ogar Emmanuel, a Kenyan businessman and resident of Tangipai village, Sebei Parish, Buda Sub-County in Buda District, was visiting his friend Okello David in Amolatar District when the incident occurred.

According to reports, Emmanuel and Okello were traveling on a Bajaj motorcycle (registration number UFF 166B) from Amolatar Town to Okello’s home village when they were ambushed near Acengryeng by three assailants armed with knives.

The attack is believed to have been orchestrated with the aid of Okello and the unidentified boda boda rider.

Emmanuel was subsequently robbed of his personal belongings, including cash amounting to 3.5 million UGX.

The assailants injected a poisonous substance into his right arm and forced him to consume an unknown liquid, causing him to lose consciousness.

They then abandoned him in a nearby bush, where he remained until regaining consciousness around 2000 hours.

Upon awakening, Emmanuel managed to reach the Amolatar Central Police Station (CPS), where he reported the incident.

He was subsequently referred to Amolatar Health Centre IV for medical treatment and is currently receiving care.

The case, filed under CRB: 279/2024, has been classified as aggravated robbery.

The police have recorded Emmanuel’s statement and are conducting ongoing efforts to investigate the crime scene.

However, due to the victim’s inability to provide an exact location, the search for evidence has been hindered.

No arrests have been made thus far, and Okello David is currently considered the prime suspect.
