Restoration of Key Road Sparks Hope in Erute South as Abudul George Steps In

Loading

Lira, Uganda – Residents of Apanylongo and Abongorwot parishes in Agali Sub-County, Erute South, are celebrating a long-overdue breakthrough after philanthropist and aspiring politician Abudul George rehabilitated a 6-kilometer stretch of road that had remained in a dire state for years.

The road, which connects Abongorwot Trading Center at Agali Seed Junction to Agali Primary School, had become nearly impassable, disrupting access to schools, health facilities, and local markets.

The dilapidated road had posed a major challenge for school-going children, farmers transporting produce, and patients seeking emergency medical attention.

With no government intervention forthcoming, Abudul George took it upon himself to mobilize resources and oversee the grading and restoration of the road.

His swift action has transformed the once-deplorable route into a usable thoroughfare, offering immediate relief to the local population.

The initiative has been met with widespread appreciation across the community.

Many residents have lauded George for demonstrating leadership through action rather than promises.

His intervention has reignited discussions around political accountability in Erute South, with many locals expressing renewed hope in his anticipated bid for the area’s parliamentary seat in the 2026 elections.

Veteran leaders and ordinary citizens alike are now throwing their weight behind Abudul George, citing his tangible contribution to community development despite not holding an elective position.

There is growing sentiment that if such efforts can be achieved outside of Parliament, greater transformation could be expected if he were elected.

The project has also sparked criticism of previous leaders, with many residents lamenting years of neglect and unfulfilled pledges.

The contrast between past inaction and George’s results-oriented approach has become a focal point of political conversation in the area.
