SOROTI CITY
The National Unity Platform (NUP) party president Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine visit to Soroti City which was expected to be on 06/09/2023 during his nationwide tour to mobilize support and open up party offices has been postponed till further notice by the party leadership in Teso Sub Region.
The decision to change the program arose during an indoor meeting as party members needed enough time with the party president as it wouldn’t be easy with the case if he visited two cities of Mbale and Soroti respectively on the same day.
In an interview with George William Okoit, Soroti City NUP mobilizer stated that during the meeting with other party delegates on 01/09/2023 at their office in Soroti City, the change came after the review of time and program of the party president’s agenda that had some congestions in it.
Okoit added that ,in the first agenda, Kyagulanyi was supposed to visit Mbale and proceed to Soroti on the same date which would give the people of Teso limited time to tell the party President the status of the party leadership in Teso and challenges thus prompting them to appeal to the top management to organize another day for the Party president to have a special visit to the region.
He added that Kyagulanyi’s visit to Soroti City will be reschedule after his return from a trip in Canada thus calling upon the people of Teso Sub Region to turn up in big numbers to listen to the manifesto and good information that their party president has for them.
Denis Erionu, the Youth Chairperson Soroti City stated that the party is also building up its structures in to help in the mobilization for all the party activities ahead of the upcoming campaigns for 2026 general elections.
Robert Kyagulanyi began his nationwide tour to open up party offices early last week on the 28/08/2023 with visit to Mbarara City.
