Lira, Uganda | Former Oyam South parliamentary aspirant and software developer Queen Dorothy Amolo has unveiled 256 AI Systems, a Ugandan technology company expected to officially launch later this month on 29, with a range of artificial intelligence-powered platforms aimed at creating jobs, improving service delivery and accelerating the country’s digital transformation.
Speaking during a media pre-launch press briefing at Pauline Hotel in Lira City on Monday, Amolo said the company seeks to position Uganda as a regional hub for digital innovation while addressing unemployment, governance and business challenges through locally developed technology.
She said the company has developed several digital platforms, including 256AI, 256Mall, 256Express, 256Heart, and 256 Link Shield, targeting government institutions, businesses and individuals.
According to Amolo, the platforms are designed to support e-commerce, transport services, cybersecurity, AI-powered productivity, and online matchmaking. She added that they will also enable farmers to access wider markets, connect buyers and sellers, guide visitors to destinations, expose online scammers, and allow Ugandans to follow parliamentary proceedings and connect with churches and schools.
Amolo explained that 256Heart, an AI-powered dating platform, will help users find compatible life partners locally and internationally while safeguarding their privacy through a “stealth mode” feature that enables professionals, including politicians, celebrities and business executives, to remain anonymous until they choose to reveal their identities. She said users who register before the official launch will receive lifetime premium access at no cost, while a free version of the platform will also remain available.
On public service delivery, Amolo revealed that the company is willing to develop digital systems for government institutions without requiring upfront payment, with clients only paying maintenance fees after deployment.
She argued that the systems could strengthen transparency and accountability by tracking public expenditure, reducing corruption and improving efficiency in sectors such as health, education and public administration through real-time monitoring of government operations, medicine distribution and staff attendance.
Presenting herself as a computer programmer, AI engineer and systems architect with nearly 10 years of experience, Amolo said the company’s primary goal is to create employment by recruiting and training young Ugandans in digital skills to develop software and websites for local and international markets. She noted that the company has already developed more than 100 websites and introduced 256 Link Shield, a cybersecurity platform designed to combat phishing and online fraud.
Amolo added that 256AI, the company’s AI assistant, can draft contracts, prepare résumés, generate computer code and provide business support tailored to Ugandan users.
Dr. Jason Boyle, a director and partner at 256 AI Systems, described Amolo as a disciplined and visionary innovator whose commitment has enabled the company to develop practical digital solutions. He said the platforms are intended to empower Ugandans by expanding opportunities for employment, entrepreneurship and global connectivity.
Boyle also defended the company’s AI-powered dating platform, saying online faith-based dating is widely embraced in the United States, including among Christian communities, because it enables users to identify partners who share their beliefs and values.
He added that online dating can provide a safer environment than casual encounters by allowing users to verify profiles and learn more about potential partners before meeting while also creating opportunities for broader social and economic connections.
