Apac District Launches UGX 219m Health Infrastructure Projects

Apac, Uganda | Apac District Assistant Resident District Commissioner (ARDC) Jonal Okot has officiated the groundbreaking ceremony for two major health infrastructure projects in the district, valued at a combined UGX 219 million.

Speaking at the event, Jonal Okot said development is a key tool for socio-economic transformation.

He thanked the Government of Uganda and the Apac District Local Government for supporting the initiatives and urged residents to use the new facilities to improve livelihoods and wellbeing.

The first project is the construction of a maternity ward at Chegere Health Centre II, valued at UGX 185 million.

The facility is being built by SB Construction Ltd and is expected to improve maternal health services in the area.

The second project involves the UGX 34 million pavement of the District Health Officer’s (DHO) compound at the district headquarters, a project being undertaken by Hard Rock Enterprises Ltd.

The upgrade aims to enhance accessibility and improve the working environment for health staff.

“These initiatives are strategic investments that will strengthen health service delivery and contribute to the overall development of the district,” Jonal Okot said.

The projects form part of Apac District’s ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare infrastructure and ensure residents have access to quality medical services.
