DOKOLO:
In a poignant address at the official handover of a crucial water source donated by Elijah Streams through Show Mercy International, Bishop Hudson Suubi, the regional overseer of the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches Uganda, Central Buganda, delivered a powerful message urging church leaders to combine prayer with practical assistance for impoverished Christians.

The event, which took place in Okwongodul subcounty in Dokolo District, Northern Uganda, saw the attendance of prominent figures including Bishop of the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches Lango, Joseph Omara, and Bishop Dr. Tom I Okelo.
Bishop Suubi emphasized the harsh reality faced by many Christians who struggle to access basic necessities such as food, water, and resources. He articulated that in such dire circumstances, acknowledging the presence of God becomes challenging for those grappling with poverty.
“Prayer alone is not enough,” asserted Bishop Suubi. “When a Christian is poor and struggling to access food, water, and resources, they cannot fully acknowledge the presence of God. Therefore, as church leaders, we must come alongside them, providing practical training and support to empower them towards success.”
This call to action underscores a shift in perspective within the church community towards a more holistic approach in addressing the needs of its members. Rather than relying solely on spiritual intervention through prayer, Bishop Suubi advocates for tangible efforts to uplift individuals out of poverty.

The donation of the water source symbolizes the tangible impact that collaborative efforts between organizations like Elijah Streams and Show Mercy International, alongside the leadership of church figures like Bishop Suubi, can have on communities in need.
Bishop Suubi’s leadership within the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches Uganda, Central Buganda, further amplifies the significance of his message. As a regional overseer, his advocacy for practical assistance aligns with the organization’s mission to serve and uplift the marginalized within society.
Bishop Hudson Suubi’s impassioned plea for church leaders to combine prayer with practical assistance serves as a rallying cry for a more comprehensive approach to addressing poverty within Christian communities. By bridging the gap between spiritual and material needs, the church can truly fulfill its mandate to be a beacon of hope and support for all believers, especially those facing adversity.
