Lira, Uganda | City Parents School has challenged pupils who did not finish among the top performers in Term Two to work harder and improve their academic performance next term. The call was made by the school’s Director in Charge of Academics, Ayo Felix, during the Term Two closing ceremony held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the school premises behind Lira City West Division headquarters.
Ayo challenged pupils who did not attain positions one, two, and three, as well as those who missed the best aggregates of four and five, to increase their effort and aim for better results next term. He urged all pupils to maintain discipline, obedience, and order, saying the school’s role is not only to provide academic knowledge but also to shape children into responsible and obedient citizens.
He called on pupils to listen to their teachers, follow instructions, and remain disciplined. Ayo also thanked God for enabling the learners to complete the term safely and in good health.
Ayo further celebrated City Parents School’s strong performance in the 2026 Lira City PLE Mock results, saying the school emerged as the number one school in the city following the release of the results on Wednesday. The school produced the best overall pupil in the mock, with 41 out of 46 candidates representing 89.1%, attaining Division One.
The achievement came as private schools dominated the Lira City mock results, with several institutions posting high Division One rates. City Parents Primary School–Anai was among the schools that recorded a perfect 100% Division One rate, with all 30 candidates attaining Division One.
During the ceremony, the three best-performing pupils in the mock were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals according to their respective positions. Similar recognition was given to top-performing pupils from Primary One to Primary Six.
The school’s head teacher, Okello Amos, thanked parents for choosing City Parents School and appreciated the teachers, administration, and directors for their contribution to quality education. He announced that Term Two ended on Thursday, with pupils starting their holiday immediately, while parents were expected at school on Friday, August 14, to collect report forms and holiday package booklets.
Okello said Term Three will begin on September 14, 2026, urging pupils to report on time to avoid missing lessons. He encouraged parents to begin paying Term Three fees during the holiday. The ceremony also featured the prefects’ handover and marked the end of a term in which the school had 1,146 primary learners and 455 nursery learners.
