For the past 12 years, the school has consistently maintained high educational standards, producing outstanding results in the national Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
During a fact-finding mission on Tuesday, 4th February 2025, Alebtong Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Mathias Lutwama visited the school to ascertain the key factors behind its consistent success.
He applauded the institution’s leadership, parents, and teachers for their unwavering commitment to academic excellence.
According to Deputy RDC Lutwama, four key elements set Hope Lives Elementary School apart:
1. Holistic Student Welfare: The school prioritizes the psychosocial needs of its pupils, ensuring they receive three balanced meals a day. This, Lutwama noted, enhances concentration, well-being, and overall academic performance.
2. Parental Commitment: Parents at Hope Lives actively contribute to their children’s education beyond financial obligations. They voluntarily support the school, particularly in feeding programs, recognizing the long-term benefits of a well-nourished and educated child.
3. Academic Excellence Culture: Right from the nursery level, pupils at Hope Lives Elementary School undergo rigorous academic preparation, fostering a mindset of success. The school maintains a high academic standard, ensuring that every child receives quality education tailored for excellence.
4. Strong Leadership and Qualified Staff: The school’s visionary leadership, under Rev. Dr. Bishop Francis Nyang, Bishop Alfred Acur, and Bishop Santos Wanok, has been instrumental in shaping the institution’s academic direction. In the 2024 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE): 20 out of 36 pupils passed with First Grade and the remaining 16 pupils scored in Second Grade, ensuring a 100% pass rate.
Such consistent results have placed Hope Lives Elementary School among Uganda’s top-performing institutions, making it a beacon of hope for education in Alebtong and beyond.
Beyond its academic success, Hope Lives Elementary School demonstrates a deep commitment to social responsibility.
The school currently sponsors 152 orphans, covering their tuition and essential needs.
Remarkably, these pupils continue to excel academically, proving that quality education, when accessible to all, transforms lives and communities.
Deputy RDC Mathias Lutwama urged other schools in Uganda to emulate Hope Lives Elementary School’s model by prioritizing holistic student welfare, fostering strong parental engagement, and investing in competent leadership and teachers.
“This school’s success is not about money but a shared mission and dedication to shaping the future. If we adopt this approach across the country, Uganda’s education system will reach greater heights,” he emphasized.
