Dokolo South MP Okot Ogong Unites Communities Through Development and NRM Drive

Dokolo, Uganda | Felix Okot Ogong, Dokolo South’s Member of Parliament, is being celebrated as a unifying force, blending transformative development with grassroots mobilization for the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

His ability to rally communities around shared goals better infrastructure, education, water access, and party loyalty is earning him widespread praise.

Okot Ogong’s leadership has brought people together through practical development. In Dokolo Town Council, roads built under his watch have lasted over five years, connecting communities and boosting local trade.

Residents say these durable roads symbolize his commitment to uniting rural and urban areas for shared prosperity.

The MP’s initiatives focus on uplifting the marginalized. By funding boreholes and rainwater harvesting systems, he’s ensured clean water for communities once divided by scarcity.

In education, renovations at Gombolola Kangai and Tucu Primary Schools, alongside school fee support for vulnerable children, have fostered hope and unity among families.

Okot Ogong’s support for St. Andrews C.O.U Church, including funding renovations and donating chairs, tables, and stationery, has made religious spaces hubs for community cohesion.

His contributions are seen as a unifying force, bringing diverse groups together in worship and service.

As a grassroots mobilizer, Okot Ogong has revitalized NRM structures, distributing party registers and membership cards down to the cell level.

His efforts have united party members and strengthened loyalty. NRM District Chairperson Geoffrey Opio Ekong praised him, saying, “…He’s uniting Dokolo through development and party work…”

Community leader Peter Ejabu Evilia lauded his inclusive approach, while NRM Sub-County Chairperson Jacob Ogwang Agena called him “a leader who brings us together for progress.”

Speaking to residents, Okot Ogong emphasized collective progress.

“…Development and unity go hand in hand. Together, we’re building a stronger Dokolo South…,” he said.

His dual focus on projects and political engagement is fostering a shared vision for the constituency’s future.

From roads to water, schools to churches, Hon. Okot Ogong is proving that development can unite communities and strengthen political ties.
