Dokolo, Uganda As the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party structure elections continue across Uganda, Hon. Rebecca Arao, an aspiring Woman Member of Parliament (WMP) for Dokolo District, has called on voters to engage in the election process with love, peace, and unity.

In an interview with Dokolo Post, Arao urged the people of Dokolo to maintain peaceful participation during the elections, following reports of tensions at some polling stations in various districts.

She particularly emphasized the need for reconciliation among those who participated in the LCI chairperson elections, urging them to put aside any differences and rally behind the NRM party.

“…Let us work together as one, regardless of the differences we may have had during the LCI elections…,” Arao stated. “…Unity is crucial for the success of our party, and it is through unity that we will move our district forward…”

Arao, who is vying to replace Hon. Sarah Aguti Nyankori as WMP in the 2026-2031 general elections, expressed her commitment to improving the welfare of Dokolo District.

She highlighted her focus on implementing income-generating projects aimed at alleviating household poverty in the area.

“…My priority will be to create opportunities that will generate income and help fight poverty in Dokolo…,” she said.

Arao also addressed the ongoing educational challenges in the district, which she believes contribute to the high levels of youth unemployment. She emphasized that education is key to unlocking better opportunities for the youth in Dokolo.

“The level of education in Dokolo is still low, which has led to the high rate of unemployment,” she explained. “I will work towards improving educational standards and creating employment opportunities for our young people.”

In addition, Arao touched on the long-awaited Dokolo Health Centre IV upgrade.

She promised to advocate for the necessary steps to make the facility a full-fledged hospital, a project that has been discussed for years without progress.

Arao urged voters, both past supporters and new ones, to place their trust in her leadership.

She pledged to remain an active representative of the people of Dokolo, committed to working tirelessly for the betterment of the district.

“…If you give me your vote, I will fulfill my promises and work hard to improve our district…,” Arao said.
