Lira, Uganda | The organizing committee of the Dwog Pacu Cup has announced the postponement of the tournament’s official opening ceremony from July 5 to July 7, 2025.
The adjustment comes in light of a scheduling conflict with the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) Annual General Meeting, which is set to take place on the same day as the initial date.
The committee noted that a number of FUFA officials are expected to attend the inaugural opening ceremony, and the rescheduling is intended to enable their participation and support.
According to Abel Ogwang, the Public Relations Officer of the Dwog Pacu Cup, the decision was made in the best interest of the tournament’s success.
He stated that while the change may cause minor inconveniences, the organizers are committed to ensuring a memorable and impactful launch for the competition.
The Dwog Pacu Cup is emerging as a significant regional football tournament aimed at nurturing grassroots talent in Northern Uganda.
Organizers have encouraged all participating teams, fans, and stakeholders to take note of the new date and continue preparations.
The tournament’s slogan, “Ateka En Nga? It’s Our Beautiful Game, It’s Our Region!” continues to symbolize the spirit of unity, pride, and resilience among the communities it brings together.
