Pallisa, Uganda | Assistant Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Peter Arikos on Saturday exchanged marriage vows with his longtime partner, Amon Eunice, in a colourful wedding ceremony held in Pallisa District.

The holy matrimony was officiated by Papa Rev. Okuni of Pentecostal Assemblies of God (PAG) Pallisa, who urged the couple to build their marriage on faith, love and mutual respect. The service drew inspiration from Proverbs 18:22, which states: “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord.”

Following the church service, hundreds of guests converged at Pal and Lisa Hotel for a reception marked by celebration, entertainment and messages of goodwill from family members, friends and invited guests.

The event attracted officials from the Office of the President, political leaders, cultural leaders and community representatives from different parts of the country. Cultural leaders from the Teso, Bukedi and Kumam sub-regions were among the dignitaries who attended the ceremony.

Arikos was accompanied by a team of groomsmen led by Hon. Tanga Collins, while relatives and friends from both families witnessed the couple’s exchange of vows.

The wedding crowned a relationship that began in 2023 after the couple connected through social media. Their friendship later blossomed into a committed relationship that culminated in an engagement earlier this year.

On International Women’s Day, Arikos publicly proposed to Eunice, a gesture that attracted admiration from friends and followers and marked a significant milestone in their journey together.

Saturday’s ceremony officially united the couple in marriage, ushering them into a new chapter of life as husband and wife.

Guests described the occasion as a joyous celebration of love, commitment and family values, with many wishing the newlyweds a successful and fulfilling marriage.
