Kaberamaido, Uganda | The Chief Magistrate of Kaberamaido Patricia Ndagire has sentence a man to two years in prison after pledging guilty on charge of cutting his neighbour’s pig with panga.
Francis Ekodu is a resident of Apokamedo village in Aperkira Parish, Aperkira Sub county Kaberamaido District.
During prosecution led by State Prosecutor Irine Nabozo, Ekodu was red the charged of removing land boundary Mark, unlawful injury of animals belonging to one of his neighbor James Aporu the occured this in January this year at the same village after
During the session the prosecutor, removed the charge of removing boundary after he pleded guilty and requested the complain that it should be handle with family members since it didn’t caused any harm to the owner of the land.
While passing his judgement, Chief Magistrate Patricia Ndagire sentence Ekodu to two years in prison adding that Ekodu who is being charged with two different offense was also remanded on alligation of beating his wife which later broke her harms.
He said once the court found he is guilty of beating the wife he will be added another year of staying in prison for that offences.
She said sending Ekodu to two years in prison is to make Ekodu learnt how to socialize with community as she said the offense of cutting animal and removing land boundary are bad ways of relating with community.
