The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has commended Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees Sam Engola for supporting clergy and church development initiatives.
Kaziimba made the remarks during his farewell visit to the Diocese of Lango, where he visited the ongoing construction of St Mary’s Church of Uganda, Adekokwok. The project is being spearheaded by Engola.
The Archbishop thanked Engola for supporting clergy with vehicles and for participating in church development activities.
He also prayed for God’s provision of the resources required to complete the church project.
Engola said the church is expected to cost more than Shs3 billion upon completion. He attributed his decision to spearhead the project to his desire to contribute to the development of the church, citing Haggai 1:8.
Engola also thanked Kaziimba for visiting the congregation during his farewell tour of Lango and commended Bishop of Lango Diocese, Prof. Alfred Olwa, and Christians for their support towards the project.
Kaziimba’s visit was part of his farewell tour of the Diocese of Lango, which included a visit to the Adekokwok church construction site before the main farewell service at All Saints Cathedral, Boroboro.
