Lira, Uganda – In a message emphasizing the role of professionalism in promoting growth and development, the Rt. Rev. Sanctus Lino Wanok, Bishop of Lira Diocese, called on Lira City business owners to excel in their sectors to transform the face of the city.
During a prayer ceremony for 185 primary seven candidates at St. Gracious Boarding Primary School, Bishop Wanok’s wisdom was delivered by Rev. Fr. Francis Omara, Judicial Vicar of the Gulu Ecclesiastical Province.
“Offering professionalism in all sectors would change the face of Lira,” stated Omara, echoing the bishop’s words.
Professionalism is about being an expert in various fields, such as education, engineering, and business, he added.
Bishop Wanok urged local business owners to follow the footsteps of Dr. Patrick Olet, a successful businessman who has helped shape Lira City’s future by investing in professional education systems and establishing schools.
Additionally, Fr. Ponsiano Okalo, stressed the importance of equal educational opportunities for both girls and boys, cautioning against the potential problems that could arise from a gender-biased education system.
Meanwhile, St. Gracious Schools Principal Leo Elem expressed confidence in the candidates’ upcoming Primary Leaving Examination results, emphasizing the value of vacation-time online learning and parental guidance in helping children pursue their future aspirations.
