Oyam, Uganda | Police in Oyam District have launched investigations into the brutal murder of a 28-year-old man whose body was discovered in a septic pit in Kamdini Town Council.
The deceased has been identified as Omaa Solomon, a peasant farmer and resident of Alyec Village, Pukica Parish in Kamdini Sub-county.
According to police, the incident is believed to have occurred in the early hours of March 17, 2026, at Township Cell, Western Ward.
The case was reported later that morning by Akot Patricia, a 29-year-old businesswoman and owner of Mok Tami Restaurant, where the deceased had reportedly been staying.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Solomon was attacked by unknown assailants on the night of March 16 while inside the restaurant located along Kampala Road.
He was allegedly stabbed multiple times with a sharp object, leading to his death.
His body was later dumped naked in a septic pit that was under construction. It was discovered at about 6am by Akot Patricia, who alerted the police.
A team of detectives and uniformed officers from Kamdini Town Council Police Station, led by the officer in charge, visited and processed the scene.
The Scene of Crime Officer documented and examined the area, and statements have since been recorded from relevant witnesses.
The body has been taken to Anyeke Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination as investigations continue.
Police spokesperson for North Kyoga region, SP Patrick Jimmy Okema, condemned the killing and assured the public that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.
“We strongly condemn this act of violence and reassure the public of our commitment to ensuring that the culprits are brought to justice,” he said.
He urged members of the public to remain calm but vigilant and to cooperate with security agencies by providing any information that could aid the investigations.
No arrests had been made by press time.
