Lira, Uganda | The North Kyoga Regional Police have responded to a video circulating on social media that allegedly shows a violent assault at King James School of Comprehensive Nursing and Midwifery, located in Ongica ‘B’ Cell, Anai Ward, Lira City West Division.
According to Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Police spokesperson, the incident occurred on February 22, 2025, and was officially reported to Lira City West Division Police by the victim, a resident of Apac District, on February 26, 2025.
Okema noted that following a thorough investigation, the case was submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) for independent legal review and guidance.
He confirmed that the matter remains under active management and that efforts to locate and apprehend the suspects are ongoing.
He emphasized the importance of public restraint, stating that the release of premature or speculative information could interfere with the investigation and compromise efforts to hold those responsible accountable.
The North Kyoga Police, he added, remain dedicated to transparency, upholding the rule of law, and ensuring the safety and protection of all individuals within their jurisdiction.
Dickens Odongo, the director of the school, declined to give details when contacted, saying that since the matter is already before court, he could not comment further.
