In a detailed policy address, Eladu outlined a strategic agenda centered on youth empowerment, party structural reform, and ideological revival.
He clarified that his intention to serve is not driven by a desire for political titles but rather by personal experience and a deep sense of duty to uplift the youth.
He pointed out that many young people in the region continue to face widespread challenges, including unemployment, limited access to economic opportunities, and inadequate mentorship.
Eladu noted that despite Northern Uganda’s vast potential and rich history, youth remain marginalised in national development frameworks.
He said his leadership would serve as a bridge between the young generation and the senior party leadership, advocating for action-oriented solutions that address real issues.
At the core of his agenda is a commitment to lobbying for greater investment in youth-led programs.
Eladu stated that he would advocate for government and party-backed initiatives that promote job creation, entrepreneurship, skills development, and innovation hubs throughout Northern Uganda.
He emphasised that empowering youth economically would not only reduce poverty but also build resilience and self-reliance among the younger population.
Eladu criticised the current inactivity of the NRM Youth League between elections, attributing it to a lack of operational funding.
He explained that without a dedicated budget, the league’s structures remain dormant for years, making consistent mobilization impossible.
He said he would push for the establishment of a modest but steady budget to support youth activities, training, and mobilisation efforts, ensuring the league remains functional throughout the political cycle.
He also pledged to empower grassroots youth leaders with resources, capacity-building sessions, and tools that would enable them to lead effectively and inclusively.
Eladu stressed the importance of national identity and cohesion among youth.
He said that given the region’s cultural diversity, unity must be prioritised.
He added that young people must begin to see themselves first as Ugandans and as key stakeholders in building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
He explained that such unity would be crucial in promoting peace, development, and shared progress in Northern Uganda.
He expressed his intention to serve as a link between the youth and senior leaders in the NRM, promising to establish consistent channels for dialogue and mentorship.
Eladu said that his leadership would prioritise ensuring youth representation in political and policy decision-making platforms at both party and national levels.
Eladu pointed out that in today’s digital age, technology plays a central role in development.
He pledged to promote digital literacy, improve youth access to information, and support tech-driven enterprises led by young innovators in Northern Uganda.
He mentioned that digital transformation would enable youth to become competitive both nationally and globally, particularly in fields like artificial intelligence, innovation, and e-commerce.
Eladu underscored the importance of transparency in youth-targeted programs.
He said he would work closely with relevant agencies to monitor and ensure that youth funds and projects reach their intended beneficiaries.
He pledged to combat corruption and ensure the efficient use of resources.
He expressed concern over the declining ideological awareness among youth, saying many young people lack a proper understanding of the NRM’s principles.
Eladu committed to leading regional ideological training programs that would empower youth councils and cultivate a new generation of ideologically grounded, patriotic NRM supporters.
He said such efforts were essential to preserving the values of the movement and securing its future leadership base.
Eladu also shared insights into his professional life, revealing that he is a civil engineer and founder of Edu Construction Ltd, a company that undertakes public and private sector construction contracts.
He explained that his approach to leadership is shaped by a belief in job creation over job seeking, and said that through his company, he is already contributing to employment and economic development in the region.
Eladu concluded his remarks by describing his candidacy as a mission to redefine youth leadership in Northern Uganda.
He said his leadership would be anchored in service, integrity, and meaningful action.
He called upon stakeholders to support his vision of inclusive development and youth empowerment, stressing that his goal is not simply to hold a position but to inspire purpose-driven leadership.
If elected, Eladu Fred Omiat would become one of the principal youth representatives for the Northern region within the NRM party, both at national and international levels.
