Obal Daniel Eyes NRM Ticket for Northern Uganda Youth MP in 2026, Promises Bold Reforms

Lira, Uganda – Obal Daniel, a distinguished Ugandan lawyer, politician, and agri-business entrepreneur, continues to make waves as a transformative leader dedicated to youth, women, With a wealth of experience spanning over five years in government and development organizations, Obal is at the forefront of shaping policies that uplift Uganda’s young generation.

Born on August 1, 1997, in Lira District, Northern Uganda, Obal currently holds the influential position of Special Presidential Assistant/Advisor In-Charge of Youth Affairs to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

He also serves as the Head of the Secretariat for Continental Youth Development Programs under the Ministry responsible for youth affairs.

His role extends beyond national borders as a member of the African Union Ad-Hoc Committee on Youth Engagement, positioning him as a key advocate for youth participation in governance and economic development at the continental level.

Obal’s academic journey reflects his commitment to excellence and intellectual growth. He attended Dr. Obote College Boroboro for his Ordinary Level education, later moving to Naalya Senior Secondary School Bweyogerere and completing his Advanced Level studies at Mbogo Mixed Secondary School.

His passion for justice led him to Makerere University School of Law, where he earned an LLB (Honors). Furthering his expertise, he pursued a Diploma in French Language Studies at Alliance Française Kampala and is currently advancing his studies with an MBA in International Relations and Diplomacy at Robert Kennedy College.

Obal’s advocacy for justice is deeply rooted in personal experience. Growing up during the turbulent times of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) insurgency in Northern Uganda, he survived three brutal attacks on his village. These harrowing experiences fueled his determination to pursue law and serve his people.

His leadership potential was evident early on, as he actively engaged in student leadership and socio-political contests.

Over the years, he has been recognized for his contributions, receiving prestigious accolades such as the Science and Technology Best Innovator Award (2012) from Vice President Jessica Alupo and the Young Achievers Award (2021) from the Federation of African Lawyers Association in Ghana.

Beyond politics and law, Obal has been actively involved in religious leadership, collaborating with various faith-based organizations, including the Anglican Community, Scripture Union, and the Muslim Fraternity.

He has worked with Peace and Reconciliation Ministries to promote healing in Northern Uganda and has volunteered with the Uganda Christian Lawyers Fraternity, focusing on increasing access to justice for vulnerable groups.

His dedication to youth empowerment is unparalleled. He spearheads numerous youth-led initiatives that bridge the gap between young people and the government, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes.

Obal Daniel is now channeling his leadership experience toward a larger political platform. With a firm belief that youth must be at the center of national development, he has declared his ambition to contest for the Northern Uganda Youth Member of Parliament (2026-2031) under the NRM party ticket.

His campaign focuses on equipping young people with opportunities in education, employment, and entrepreneurship, ensuring that they actively participate in shaping Uganda’s future.
