Pastor Awio Scrap Demands UGX 10M from Lil Square Over Alleged Contract Breach

Lira, Uganda – A heated dispute has erupted between Pastor Isaac Awio, alias Awio Scrap Dealer and musician Ogwang Walter, popularly known as Lil Square, over an alleged contract breach.

Awio is demanding UGX 10 million in compensation, claiming he invested significantly in Lil Square’s music career but received little in return.

Awio, who has threatened to repossess and sell Lil Square’s car to recover the amount, accused the artist of failing to honor their agreement.

“I sacrificed my resources to push Lil Square’s career, and this is how I’m repaid? If I don’t get my money, I will dismantle his car and sell it for parts,” Awio stated during a phone interview with our correspondent on December 31, 2024.

Awio has called on the public to report any sightings of Lil Square’s car, signaling his intent to take swift action to recover his alleged losses.

Lil Square has fired back, refuting Awio’s claims and accusing him of exploiting his success.

“Awio didn’t make me; I was already a star. He just used me to finish his Heavens Hotel with my bookings. I barely saw any of that money,” Lil Square said.

The artist also accused Awio of abandoning their partnership to focus on managing another artist, Eezzy the Lyrical, and claimed Awio’s financial contributions were overstated.

“He’s all over the place – one day he’s a pastor, the next he’s a musician. Let him come if he thinks he can challenge me!”

The dispute stems from a three – year management contract signed on August 29, 2023.

At the time, Awio pledged to propel Lil Square’s career across East Africa, emphasizing hard work and dedication.

However, in November 2023, Awio announced his withdrawal from the music industry to dedicate himself to ministry work, leaving Lil Square’s career in limbo.

This sudden shift, coupled with allegations of mismanagement, seems to have sparked the ongoing feud between the two.

The escalating tensions have drawn significant public attention, with fans speculating on the outcome of the rift.

Pastor Awio remains adamant about recovering the UGX 10 million he claims to have invested, while Lil Square is determined to protect his name and career.

The music industry and fans are left wondering if this feud will end in reconciliation or further conflict as the battle between Awio and Lil Square continues to dominate conversations in Lira and beyond.
