Lira, Uganda – The Bishop of Lango Diocese, Dr. Professor Alfred Olwa, has redeployed retired clergy, including Rev. Canon Dr. Jacky Milton Otoo Olima, during a celebration of Deacons and Reverends on the 5 January, 2025 at the diocesan headquarters in Boroboro.
Rev. Otoo Olima has been assigned as the Archdeacon of Lira Urban Archdeaconry, marking a significant return to active ministry.
Other notable redeployments and transfers include Rev. Canon Nelson Ogali, now serving as the Archdeacon of Obot Archdeaconry Bar, and several serving clergy assigned to new parishes and roles.

Bishop Alfred Olwa reassured congregants that the transfers were carefully planned to strengthen ministry across the Diocese.
“Transfers are a part of God’s work. They ensure that His message reaches everyone. I urge you to support your new Reverends and work together for the greater good,” he stated.
Hudson Ogwali, Secretary of Lango Diocese, addressed misconceptions about transfers, emphasizing that they are based on performance and not individual requests.
“Each servant of God is called to serve wherever they are sent. This is the essence of their mission,” he explained.
The Diocese urges congregations to welcome their new clergy and support them in spreading God’s word.
