Oyam WMP Santa Alum Ogwang Delivers 152 Iron Sheets to Oyam Churches, Advocates Faithful Leadership

Oyam, Uganda – Oyam District Woman MP, Hon. Santa Alum Ogwang, has reaffirmed her commitment to serving the Lord by supporting churches across the district, irrespective of religion or location.

Speaking during a donation ceremony on Sunday, January 5, 2025, Alum emphasized that her contributions are driven by her faith and desire to glorify God, not political ambition.

At the event, Hon. Alum delivered 152 iron sheets to three churches in Oyam District to aid their ongoing construction projects:

  • St. Mathius Olam Adek COU (Loro Subcounty): 70 iron sheets
  • Ogwang Apur B COU (Acaba Subcounty): 40 iron sheets
  • St. Thomas Abee Ibuti COU (Oyam Town Council): 42 iron sheets

Additionally, St. Thomas Abee Ibuti COU received a token of UGX 200,000 to facilitate the completion of a catechist’s residence, which is currently 55% complete.

In her address, Alum stated, “What I am doing is not about seeking votes from Christians. This is about glorifying and magnifying God’s name, as the Holy Scriptures teach us. I encourage all leaders in Lango to embrace such acts of service to seek blessings and protection from Him who dwells above.”

Alum’s track record in supporting churches is widely recognized in Oyam District, with her efforts ranging from contributing to church constructions to supporting the welfare of church servants.

Rev. Joel Omara, receiving the donations on behalf of St. Thomas Abee Ibuti COU, expressed his gratitude and admiration for Alum’s commitment.

He noted that her support would significantly accelerate the completion of the catechist’s residence. Rev. Omara praised her contributions, saying, “Hon. Alum’s unwavering efforts to uplift our church will never be forgotten. We wish her God’s blessings and protection in all her endeavors.”

Peter Odyek, Alum’s senior political assistant, highlighted her consistency in supporting churches throughout Oyam without religious discrimination. He emphasized that her actions exemplify a leader dedicated to unity and service for the betterment of the community.

Alum concluded her address by urging fellow leaders in Lango to emulate such actions, noting that serving faith communities could inspire hope and foster blessings.
