Lira City, Uganda – Sarah Awor Angweri, the determined and outspoken female workers’ representative for Lira City and aspiring Woman MP, has made a resolute declaration—she is ready to lead and bring an end to the persistent conflicts stalling Lango’s progress.

Speaking passionately in Lira City, she emphasized the urgent need for unity and development, setting the tone for what promises to be a high-stakes political battle in the 2026–2031 elections.

Angweri did not mince words as she addressed the pressing issues plaguing the region. She called upon leaders and citizens alike to abandon divisive politics and work towards a collective vision of prosperity.

With unwavering confidence, Angweri silenced speculation about her readiness to contest.

“Many people have called me, wondering why I have been silent. They ask if I fear the competition. Let me make it clear today—I do not fear anyone. I am fully prepared to contest and serve the people of Lira City with integrity and commitment,” she declared, receiving thunderous applause from her supporters.

She took a bold stand against those she accused of deliberately causing confusion in Lango, warning them to shift their focus to meaningful development rather than fueling division.

She also openly criticized male leaders for their silence regarding the increasing tensions in the region, calling on them to take responsibility and be part of the solution.

Beyond politics, Angweri highlighted the grim reality of unemployment in Lira City, condemning the frequent arrests of young people who roam the streets in search of opportunities.
