Kampala, Uganda | St Lawrence University delivered a commanding performance to defeat Lira University 3-0 in a thrilling Pepsi Uganda Football League encounter, underlining their title credentials with a clinical display.
St. Lawrence University took control of the game in the 33rd minute when Okello Ivan James found the back of the net, finishing off a well-worked move assisted by Mukiibi Sharafah.
The hosts maintained their dominance after the break, with Mukiibi Sharafah turning from provider to scorer.
He doubled the lead in the 61st minute, courtesy of an assist from Owane Yasin, before sealing his brace in the 88th minute after being set up by Ssemanda Muhamud.
Sharafah’s two-goal performance capped a brilliant individual display as St Lawrence ran riot against Lira University, who struggled to cope with the intensity and attacking precision of their opponents.
The victory strengthens St Lawrence’s position in the Pepsi University Football League (UFL) campaign, while Lira University will be left to regroup ahead of their next fixture.
