Kampala, Uganda – In a significant political development, the leader of the Teso War Claimants, Mr. John Ogulei, recently met with National Unity Platform (NUP) President Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, to discuss the ongoing campaign for compensation for the Teso people.

This meeting comes ahead of Bobi Wine’s planned visit to the Teso region, which has been scheduled for November 9, 2024.

During the meeting, Mr. Ogulei expressed gratitude to Bobi Wine for taking an interest in the plight of the Teso war claimants and emphasized the importance of working together to ensure that the government honors its promises to compensate the people of Teso for their losses during the insurgency and cattle rustling that took place in the 1980s and 1990s.

This collaboration between the Teso War Claimants and the NUP highlights the growing political support for the compensation campaign and underscores the importance of the issue to the people of Teso.

As the planned visit approaches, both parties remain committed to continuing their efforts to advocate for the rights of the Teso war claimants and to hold the government accountable for its obligations to the people of Teso.
