Kampala, Uganda | Tukei Smith, the Principal of Adwoki Technical Institute and a long-serving educationist and youth advocate, has been officially nominated to contest in the NRM party primaries for LCV Chairperson, Dokolo District.

The nomination was confirmed today in Kampala, where Tukei, flanked by supporters and party agents, declared his intention to seek the NRM party flag ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.
Tukei currently serves as the NRM Workers League Union Secretary for Dokolo District and has been the District Coordinator for the Uganda National Students Association (UNSA) since 2009.
In addition, he coordinates activities of the Uganda Business and Technical Examinations Board (UBTEB) for Station 097 – Dokolo, a position he has held since 2011.
Addressing the media shortly after receiving his nomination, Tukei outlined a five-point agenda for transforming Dokolo District, should he be entrusted with leadership.
He emphasized economic empowerment as a top priority, vowing to create employment opportunities for youth and women through expanded vocational training programs.
He further pledged to improve social services, enhance infrastructure development, champion agricultural mechanization, and promote good governance rooted in transparency and accountability.
Tukei’s campaign message centers on practical solutions to longstanding challenges, including underdevelopment, youth unemployment, and limited access to quality public services.
Political analysts say Tukei’s strong track record in education and grassroots mobilization could make him a formidable contender in the race for the district’s top seat.
