Mukono, Uganda | Police in Mukono District have launched investigations into the murder of Ms Tumwebaze Pamela, a 46-year-old Director of Student Affairs at Uganda Christian University (UCU), who was allegedly strangled at her residence in the early hours of Wednesday.
Ms Tumwebaze, a resident of Guafu West Village, Seeta Ward in Goma Division, Mukono District, was reportedly attacked at around 2am on February 11, 2026.
According to preliminary police findings, a housemaid at the home saw an unidentified man inside the deceased’s bedroom at about 2am.
The suspect was reportedly dressed in the deceased’s jeans and stockings at the time.
Police said the suspect fled the scene shortly after, carrying a laptop bag belonging to the deceased.
The housemaid, together with the children, later checked on Ms Tumwebaze and found her unresponsive in her bed.
She was rushed to Namirembe Church of Uganda Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Racheal Kawala confirmed the incident and said homicide task teams have been deployed to investigate the circumstances surrounding the killing.
“Investigations and operations are ongoing to identify, trace and arrest the suspect. The Uganda Police Force remains fully committed to ensuring that the perpetrator is apprehended and brought to justice,” SP Kawala said.
By press time, no arrests had been made.
