Mukono, Uganda ā In a major crackdown on human trafficking, the Territorial Police at Nagalama have rescued 51 individuals who were victims of a fraudulent job recruitment scheme orchestrated by Alliance In Motion (AIM) Global, a networking company operating in the Naggalama division.

The police operation was launched on April 2, 2025, at around 10:00 AM, following intelligence reports indicating that unsuspecting job seekers were being duped into paying money in exchange for non-existent employment opportunities.
According to police findings, victims were lured with the promise of lucrative jobs and were required to pay UGX 150,000 upon reporting for work, allegedly for training purposes.
However, the ordeal did not end there. Once recruited, victims had their mobile phones confiscated and were coerced into recruiting their friends and relatives into the scheme.
Their relatives were then asked to pay UGX 1.5 million to purchase company products, with assurances that they would make substantial profits over time.
The victims were falsely promised earnings of at least UGX 1 million per month based on the number of new recruits and product sales they facilitated.
The police operation uncovered shocking living conditions in multiple locations across Kalagi, Mukono District, where the victims were being held.
1. Kakola village, Kyabakadde parish, Kyampisi sub-county ā 14 victims (3 males, 11 females) were crammed into a single room.
2. Kalagi village, Naggalama A ward, Nakifuma Naggalama town council ā 20 victims (10 males, 10 females) were discovered living in a small, overcrowded room.
3. Bbosa village, Kyabakadde parish ā 14 individuals (6 males, 8 females) were found in yet another single room.
The appalling conditions highlight the extent of exploitation suffered by the victims, many of whom were left stranded and financially drained after being misled by the perpetrators.
The masterminds behind this operation, identified as Kasule Zephaniah and Nantima Evelyn, have been apprehended and are currently detained at Nagalama Police Station.
Authorities have launched further investigations to dismantle the broader network behind this human trafficking ring.
Speaking on the rescue operation, police officials emphasized the urgency of addressing fraudulent employment schemes that exploit desperate job seekers.
āWe are committed to cracking down on these criminal networks and ensuring justice for the victims. We also urge the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious recruitment activities,ā an official stated.
The police are also working closely with relevant agencies to provide support and rehabilitation for the victims, many of whom have been left traumatized by their ordeal.
Authorities are urging the public to be cautious about job offers that require upfront payments.
Job seekers are advised to verify the legitimacy of employers and report any suspicious recruitment practices to law enforcement.
This operation serves as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by fraudulent job networks, and law enforcement remains resolute in its efforts to dismantle such schemes and bring perpetrators to justice.
