Amolatar, Uganda | Isaac Odongo Ekuu, aspiring Member of Parliament for Kioga North Constituency in Amolatar District, combined action with advocacy during a visit to Agikdak Parish on Monday June 9, 2025.
Odongo donated a set of uniforms and footballs to local youth groups while delivering a strong message on economic empowerment.
The donation, presented within Agikdak sub-county, aims to bolster youth engagement and recreational activities.
Odongo emphasized that while sports foster unity and discipline, sustained development requires economic focus.
Addressing the youths and community members directly, Odongo issued a clear call to action: “Move beyond leisure; embrace productivity,” he urged.
He specifically pointed to ventures like poultry farming as accessible and profitable income-generating projects for young people.
Expanding his vision, Odongo challenged the wider community to shift towards commercial agriculture.
“Subsistence farming keeps us in a cycle. To truly eradicate poverty from our homes and our constituency, we must think bigger, produce for the market, and embrace modern farming techniques,” Odongo stated passionately.
Central to his address was a firm pledge: “My core mission, should you entrust me with your vote, is to lead the fight against poverty in Kioga North. This fight starts with empowering our youth and transforming our agricultural practices. These uniforms and balls are a token of support today, but the real game-changer will be equipping you with the skills and opportunities for sustainable income.”
The event provided Odongo, a key contender in the upcoming elections, a platform to connect directly with voters in Agikdak sub-county, highlighting his dual focus on youth development and economic transformation as pillars of his campaign.
