Mityana, Uganda – Blacks Power FC today, January 5, 2025, continued their impressive FUFA Big League campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ntugasaze FC at Ssaza Grounds in Mityana.
The match, which kicked off at 4 PM, saw the visitors come from behind to secure three crucial points and maintain their push for promotion.
Ntugasaze FC started the game brightly and were awarded a penalty in the 4th minute, which Lawrence confidently converted to give the home side an early lead.
Despite being behind, Blacks Power FC displayed great composure and resilience. Their efforts paid off in the 14th minute when Brian Ogwal found the back of the net, levelling the score at 1-1 before halftime.
The second half saw an intense battle as both teams pushed for a winning goal. However, it was the visitors who found the decisive breakthrough.
Coach Bob Obira’s tactical brilliance paid off when substitute Orom Henry, who was introduced in the 68th minute, scored the winner in the 80th minute, sending the Blacks Power FC fans into raptures.
With this victory, Blacks Power FC moved up to second place on the FUFA Big League table, having amassed 26 points from 12 matches.
They have now recorded eight wins, two draws, and two losses this season, putting them in a strong position to challenge for promotion.
Ntugasaze FC, on the other hand, remains in 11th place with 12 points from 12 matches. Despite winning three games and drawing three, they find themselves tied on points with Kigezi Home Boys FC, who occupy the first relegation spot.
This loss leaves Ntugasaze FC under immense pressure as they battle to avoid dropping into the relegation zone.
