Soroti, Uganda – The Iteso Cultural Leader, Emorimor Papa Paul Sande Emolot, has paid a heartfelt tribute to Brigadier-General Charles Oluka, honoring his lifetime of dedicated service to Uganda.

Speaking at the requiem mass in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Madera, Emorimor spoke not only to the sadness of the moment but to the profound legacy left behind by Oluka, whose life was marked by an unwavering commitment to the protection and stability of Uganda.
Known for his integrity and deep sense of duty, Oluka had earned the trust of many, including President Yoweri Museveni, who recognized his leadership in securing the nation.
His death, Emorimor said, is a loss not only to the Iteso people but to Uganda as a whole.
Emorimor urged the nation to reflect on the bigger picture—the tireless sacrifices made by those in Uganda’s security forces. Oluka was not just a figurehead but someone who worked on the frontlines, providing strategic leadership to protect the people.
But Oluka’s legacy goes beyond his military achievements, his work as a mentor and his influence on younger generations of officers was also highlighted by Emorimor.
The general’s commitment to strengthening Uganda’s defense structures is now a benchmark for future leaders.
In his tribute, Emorimor also emphasized the importance of unity and collective strength during such times of loss, urging all Ugandans to come together and support one another in mourning and remembrance.
Oluka’s death has left an irreplaceable void, but his legacy remains a guiding light for Uganda’s security future.
