Residents of Abali Village, Alebere Parish, Itek Sub-county in Lira District rejoiced as the long-awaited water crisis was mitigated by a 28-million-Ugshs borehole project, spearheaded by the Senior Presidential Advisor and aspiring MP, Hon. Sam Engola.
Amidst the elation, a juxtaposition emerged between the incumbent MP, Hon. Jonathan Odur, and his challenger Hon. Sam Engola.
A recent community gathering to celebrate the commencement of the borehole project in Abali Village, Lira District, saw Ferdinand Acai Okello deliver a passionate speech, lauding the leadership and commitment of Hon. Sam Engola in addressing the long-standing water crisis.
Okello, who played a key role in monitoring the project’s progress, praised Hon. Engola for his quick response to the community’s needs and for his dedication to improving local residents’ quality of life.
Nek Yusuf, a resident of Abali Village, shared his enthusiasm and appreciation for the borehole project in Erute South-Lira District, expressing his gratitude towards Hon. Sam Engola’s leadership during a community gathering.
Yusuf, who spoke emotionally about the struggle of finding clean water in the past, praised Hon. Engola for bringing a solution to their long-time problem. “Hon. Sam Engola is the kind of leader we need. He listens to our problems and takes action.” Nek Yusuf added.
Recent events surrounding the borehole project in Abali Village, Lira District, have also sparked discontent among the local community towards the current Member of Parliament, Hon. Jonathan Odur.
Several residents voiced their frustration with Hon. Odur’s perceived lack of responsiveness to their needs and concerns, with some even going so far as to say that his leadership has been ineffective and unsupportive.
