Lira, Uganda – Benard Ogwal-Atin Acan, Erute North MP aspirant for 2026 – 2031 under the National Resistence Movement (NRM) Party or Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), has ushered in the new year with a heartfelt call for unity and forward-thinking solutions to drive the region’s progress.
In a New Year message shared on behalf of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng, Minister of Health and NRM Coordinator for Lango Sub-region, Ogwal-Atin Acan expressed his hopes for a transformative 2025.
Ogwal-Atin Acan emphasized the urgency of overcoming division, describing it as a major impediment to Erute North’s potential.
“The parochialism and divisiveness that have engulfed nearly every aspect of our lives do nothing to improve or sustain progress,” he noted.
Instead, Ogwal-Atin Acan urged his constituents to adopt a collaborative approach that prioritizes the greater good over personal or political agendas.
“We need to work together to harness our greatness so that it benefits everyone,” he added, emphasizing that development should transcend traditional boundaries and political ideologies.
The aspirant pointed to the unique strengths of Erute North as a constituency and the broader Lango Sub-region, emphasizing that its future success depends on collective action and innovative solutions.
Ogwal-Atin Acan also took the opportunity to reflect on the nation’s broader challenges, calling for a shift towards unity-driven decision-making that uplifts the entire community.
“My wish for 2025 is that we all work towards solutions collaboratively,” he said, framing the new year as an opportunity to chart a course toward shared prosperity.
