Amuria – Amuria District Police have initiated an investigation into the suspected murder by hanging of a 70-year-old woman, Nambi Robinah, a Muganda housewife.

The incident reportedly took place on June 25, 2024, at 04:00 AM in Arute Village, Arute Parish, Abarilela Sub-County, Amuria District.
According to initial reports, it appears that Nambi Robinah may have taken her own life. It is believed that she had been experiencing mental health challenges since being involved in a motor accident last year.
ASP Obukulem Edison, the acting spokesperson for East Kyoga, stated in a press release that the deceased’s body was found hanging from a Muvule tree near her home on the morning of June 25.
The incident was reported to police under CRB 201/2024 at the CPS Amuria, and the body was transported to Amuria General Hospital Mortuary for a postmortem examination.
At this stage of the investigation, no arrests have been made. The authorities are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident to establish a clearer understanding of the events that transpired.
