Amolatar, Uganda – Dr. Col. John Francis Ongia, an aspirant for the Kioga County parliamentary seat in the 2026 elections, has pledged to prioritize poverty eradication and development if elected.
Dr. Ongia while speaking to Dokolo Post, outlined a comprehensive plan to ensure government programs, such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, Youth Livelihood Program and Village Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs), are effectively implemented.
He criticized corruption and mismanagement for hindering these initiatives, promising to champion transparency and accountability to ensure resources reach their intended beneficiaries.
“These programs are meant to transform lives, but corruption has derailed them. I am committed to ensuring they work for the people of Kioga County,” Ongia said.
The aspirant has also pledged to prioritize agriculture by providing farmers with modern tools, financial resources and access to markets to improve productivity and incomes.
He plans to invest in education and vocational training to equip youth with competitive skills and support environmentally sustainable development to protect natural resources.
Dr. Ongia emphasized the need for community involvement in decision-making processes, ensuring residents have a say in development projects.
He also called for unity among residents to overcome challenges and build a prosperous future for Kioga County and Amolatar District.
With a focus on accountability, Dr. Ongia vowed to curb the misuse of public funds and work closely with government agencies to deliver tangible results.
“I will work tirelessly to ensure the needs of Kioga County are met and that we achieve meaningful development,” Ongia assured.
Dr. Ongia assured voters that his leadership would bring practical solutions to the challenges they face, promising a future rooted in accountability, growth and shared prosperity.
