Lira, Uganda – Leo Aguda Olila, a prominent youth leader and member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Lango Sub-region, has expressed strong support for the ongoing Presidential Development Model (PDM) and its positive impact on the region.
The initiative, which provides one million shillings per household, is central to the President’s goal of reducing poverty and stimulating economic growth across Uganda.
Aguda praised the President’s commitment to empowering households and promoting sustainable development through the PDM program.
He emphasized that for the program to succeed, it requires full participation from the public.
“I urge everyone to take this initiative seriously because it is not just about receiving money – it’s about creating long-term prosperity for our communities,” Aguda said.
The youth leader also highlighted the importance of technical skills development for young people, applauding the establishment of the Presidential Hub.
The hub aims to provide young Ugandans with the skills needed to enter the job market or start their own businesses.
“Equipped with the right skills, young people can become job creators, not just job seekers,”Aguda remarked.
Aguda also acknowledged the government’s efforts in fostering local development, particularly through the Akibua multi-billion shilling project.
He described the project as a game-changer for Lango, promising significant benefits for both the youth and the elderly in the region.
Additionally, Aguda urged parents, local leaders, and citizens across Lango to join hands in supporting the President’s initiatives, urging for a mindset shift towards positive change.
He stressed the importance of community awareness and participation in making the PDM program effective.
Aguda expressed unwavering support for President Museveni’s leadership and the NRM party’s core principles of peace, democracy and economic transformation.
“We, as the people of Lango, are fully behind you, Mr. President. We believe in your vision for a better Uganda, and we will continue to support it,” he said.
Aguda’s speech reinforced the need for unity and collective action in order to achieve the President’s goals for sustainable development and socio-economic transformation in Uganda.
